These three drive our ministry:
Everything we do at Gloria Dei strives to connect people to Jesus, the object of our faith. Our worship centers on Jesus and the many blessings we have through him, especially forgiveness and the certain hope of heaven. We gather together for Bible Studies to grow in our knowledge of Jesus and his Word. There are groups for all sizes and ages. We have Bible Class for a large group on Sundays and smaller groups during the week. There is a Sunday School program for preschool through elementary ages. We have a teen group that meets for studies and events. We also offer classes to introduce people to the Bible's teachings and an instruction class for youth that fosters growth in faith and life.
As a teaching church, we believe it is important to give people the necessary tools to understand what the Bible teaches, to apply it to their own lives, and then to be able to publicly articulate what they believe. All of our opportunities for growth and service focus on the faith relationship we have with Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
Church isn’t just what we do on Sunday mornings. It’s who we are as we do life together during the week. We pray together, study God’s Word together, and help carry each other’s burdens. We don’t want anyone to walk through life alone. We strive to create groups where people can feel like they belong and find Christian friends who become like family.
Here at Gloria Dei, we are made up of many different individuals who are at the same time connected to Jesus as brothers and sisters in faith. Jesus has joined us together as a body of believers, and together we live to glorify him. As in any family we love, support, encourage one another in our lives of Christian faith.
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" (1 John 3:1).
Fellowship is what we do together as Christian brothers and sisters. We want to be together and to serve together, so that we can encourage and build each other up in Christ's love.
Not only do we enjoy connecting to Jesus, we enjoy the blessing of connecting to other people because of Jesus. We do this by making the most of every opportunity to “do life” together. Meals, events, outings, service projects, and retreats are some of the ways we enjoy the blessing of Christian friendships. We think this helps grow authentic relationships and lasting friendships based on a connection to Jesus.
"Jesus died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing" (1 Thessalonians 5:10-11).
"Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
