Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

The outreach efforts of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church are three-fold.

  • We send a portion of our church offerings to the Wisconsin Evangelical Synod (WELS) to be used to finance all the mission projects WELS is pursuing in the United States and throughout the world.
  • We reach out to people in our community through mailings to new residents, Easter service mailings, sharing God's Word in a booth at the Bartlett, Tennessee Fall Festival every year, and various projects designed to reach unchurched individuals.
  • We prepare and encourage members of our congregation to participate in one-on-one evangelism with family, friends, and anyone with whom they have an opportunity to share the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.

This year our booth at the Bartlett Fall Festival was decorated in a Thanksgiving/harvest motif. Adult visitors to our booth were given DVDs, Road to Emmaus or My Son My

Savior, along with a pen and refrigerator magnet showing the Church name, address and contact information, and Bible Study and Worship Service times.  Children were given a Biblical picture coloring paper with crayons, a lollypop, and a refrigerator magnet.  Visitors were cheerfully greeted, engaged in conversation, asked if they had a church home, and if not, were invited to our Church.  If visitors were amenable, they were engaged further in Christian witness regarding their relationship with Jesus.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is participating in the WELS Synodwide program to reach one million souls known as C18 (Christmas 2018).  The goal of the C18 program is to invite one million friends, neighbors, co-workers, and other guests to attend the 2018 Christmas Eve service at a WELS church.  We want to boldly proclaim Christ this Christmas season.
