Music Ministry

Our music ministry is intended to support and enhance the worship service.  The music ministry consists of four components:

  • Musicians
  • Adult choir
  • Children’s choir
  • Congregational singing

We are fortunate to have a number of musically talented individuals in our congregation who are willing to volunteer their time to enhance our music ministry.

Individuals that are trained and skilled at playing the piano or organ may participate by providing musical accompaniment for the Worship Service.  These musicians take turns as appropriate to provide the musical prelude prior to the Worship Service, play the hymns during the Worship Service, accompany the musical components of the liturgy, and perform the postlude following the completion of the Worship Service.

Adult Choir

The adult choir is composed of volunteers who like to sing.  We are blessed to have a schooled and trained choir director who volunteers to plan and select the music, rehearse and conduct the choir, and lead the special music components of our Worship Service.  The choir sings an anthem or special music once each month and for services during special events such as Easter and Christmas Worship Services.  The choir practices at 8:15 AM on Sunday morning.

Children’s Choir

The children’s choir includes children of our members between 6 and 12 years of age.  The choir sings on special occasions.  Our children’s choir director is an educator experienced in working with elementary age children.

Congregational Singing

We sing in glory to God.  Each person participates as able to add joy and fulfillment to the worship service.
